God has given us all things that we need for life.
2 Peter 1:3
Today if we are to live our lives above our circumstances we must strengthen our grip on the Word of God.
Question 1 Do you think you have what it takes to “make it” in life, through these different times?
Well if you have said No, this would not be true! As God says He has provided you with everything you will ever need in this life. The promise of this is found in 2 Peter 1:3.
Do you know God wants us to be blessed and successful in every area of our lives, work, marriage, family, relationships, church, and community just for starters? What is the formula for this to happen? It is to have God’s word deeply rooted into our lives that His power can operate in our lives?
Question 2 How can you make God’s power operational in your LIFE?
Answer, the apostle Peter says that it comes “through the knowledge of Him who called us.”
One of the most successful ways to accumulate this knowledge comes from His Word which feeds the divine nature within us, and when that happens it is meant to be lived out by relying on His power.
First though you must have His word so you can grow in knowledge. Unfortunately, this is not automatic; you must make a conscious decision to be industrious in seeking to know His word which takes time and effort. There is no short cut but the benefits are huge. The better we get to know Him, the more we become like Him. Remember God’s Word is powerful. In fact, this is what it has to say, ‘My people are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge.’
Let that not be said of you and me. Instead let us commit to reading it daily. As one person said the Bible stands for
- B – asic
- I – nformation
- B – before
- L – eaving
- E – arth
From the very first verses recorded in Genesis we can see the power of the WORD
The Word of God:
It creates. In creation, God said; ‘Let there be light’. In fact, throughout the whole chapter 1 of Genesis God spoke and things happened.
Hebrews 11verse 3 By faith, we see the world called into existence by God’s word, what we see created by what we don’t see. (The Message)
He holds everything together by what he says—powerful words! Hebrews 1:3 (The Message)
It Feeds. Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: “It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.” Matthew 4:4 (The Message)
The wonderful thing about the Bible is it has the capacity to transform your life. God gave us the Word not to increase our Bible knowledge, but to change our lives.
I leave you with this verse. God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defence, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one are impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what.
Hebrews 4:12-13 (The Message)
