There is one God and one mediator so that human beings can reach God. That way is through Christ Jesus, who is himself human. He gave himself as a payment to free all people. He is proof that came at the right time.
1 Timothy 2:5-6
There was a saying when I first stared work “time was our enemy”.
It was related to the fact you were not able to complete a task because time had run out and it was time to leave your place of work and go home. That of course was frustrating as someone else had to complete your task.
Isn’t it good to know we have a Saviour who has completed the task of our eternal salvation and can be trusted to work out the rest of our lives with his perfect timing. The text tells us that “at the right time Jesus came”, not a day or hour too late or too early
In John 11 Jesus knew his friend (Lazarus) was dying and yet He waits till his friend has died before going to visit the family at a graveside. We could say the timing was all wrong, too late for Lazarus. Jesus wanted them and us to know Jesus has the power over death. Therefore since he conquered death, the final enemy to the human race, we can surely put our lives in his hand with the assurance He is in control of everything including time.
- Are you waiting for a promise to be fulfilled?
- A loved one to come into a relationship with Jesus?
- A sickness to overcome?
- A marriage to be healed?
- Or anything else where time seems to be your enemy?
As Chris Tomlin so wonderfully puts it “time is in His hands the beginning and the end. How great is our God”.
Remember at the right time God will enter into your situation for time is in his hands.
