We often sing the song Be Thou My Vision, but how should we seek the vision that God has for us?

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

Paul is speaking to some people in a place called Ephesus. I can recommend you visiting Ephesus (Turkey) where you can see that lots of the places Paul visited are actually still there today. That is true also of the words Paul spoke to that local church. Paul reminds them as to why God had a plan for their lives.

The plan is simple but the outworking can be difficult if you do not know what the plan is.

We do know some things:

  1. God created this role
  2. God chose our specific role.
  3. Everyone has their own role, not someone else’s
  4. We are to do good works.

The question is what does that look like for you and the answer is I don’t know. You need to find out by seeking God. I do know that Jesus called us to be light and salt. So perhaps a good starting point while you are seeking God for the vision He has for you would be to implement the light and salt Jesus talked about.

I love this acronym of salt so why not start implementing this today. You do great! Keep going.

S = SERVE

Be there for others. Like, Jesus we are not called to BE served, but TO serve. Our gifts, talents, and abilities are not just for our benefit, but to bless others.

A = APPRECIATE

Show appreciation of others. Applaud good effort. Recognise accomplishments. Say thank you regularly.

L = LOVE

The way Jesus loves, love others. Openly, Sacrificially, Constantly. Without expectation of return.

T = TREASURE

Value others. Show them kindness, dignity and respect, always – no matter their past, or your personal differences.

Stay safe and Blessed
