Today we continue our series on communication with God, as we look at a daily call.

When Daniel learned that the decree had been signed and posted, he continued to pray just as he had always done. His house had windows in the upstairs that opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he knelt there in prayer, thanking and praising his God.

Daniel 6:10 The Message

Years ago when your family moved to another country you had to arrange a day and time to call them in the sense you had to give the telephone company time to set it up. It was also very costly to do so.

I know some of you will not understand what I’m saying due to the ease with which you now can not only call but see the person no matter where you are in the world.

Today Daniel had much of the same experience as we have that he knew he had access to his call in heaven anytime and anywhere. This was to cause him a huge problem as jealous people knew that and used it to have him arrested and finally put in a den of lions.

The whole point of this story is they knew how important calling God was to Daniel. It was Daniel’s lifeline. He continued to pray just as he had always done. Let me stress it was not due to a religious system, no just the opposite He wanted to speak to his father, not in a distant land we talked about earlier but one that is in Heaven and that for Daniel

It was something he was not going to miss.

You see Daniel had not just an earthy home but also a spiritual home, a home life enveloped in prayer.

  • I wonder if you have a daily call?
  • Is that important?
  • Is it worth going into a lion’s den for?

The one thing I do know when troubles come it is the first thing we do pick up the phone and call God. We know the importance of doing that. Might I suggest we view a daily call as being just as important? You do? Good! Go on then, pick up the phone.

Stay Safe and Blessed.
