Great Expectations

Great Expectations

For many of you yesterday, you may have had great expectations on what the Prime Minister was going to say regarding lockdown.

Had our Prime Minister finally figured it out? By the way, let me digress for a second; pray for our Prime Minister daily asking for God’s wisdom to be given to him.

Back to the blog! I’m not sure whether your criteria were met yesterday. Were you disappointed or have you become so used to these things that they just become part of the norm?

Whatever, we now know what the next few months have in store. Yet we are still really in a waiting game as lots of what was talked about yesterday will still depend on how this virus is controlled. Our world is still very volatile.

The great thing about being a follower of Jesus is we believe that all our days are actually planned by God. There are no surprises because God is all-powerful, all-knowing and Has everything under his control.

Our God never changes and His love for us continues day by day. We have the privilege of communication with Him hour by hour and through His Bible, we can be more excited about hearing what God has to say than we were about what the Prime Minister had to say yesterday.

Let me tell you why. You see there is a verse in the Bible:

Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvellous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.

Jeremiah 33:3

Yes, the creator of the universe is waiting for you to call Him so He might share with you and give you information that will truly excite you.

Think about it, David talked about this great God in Psalm 104.

David starts with God’s goodness in the realm of creation. Take time today to look at the skies, mountains, oceans. What do you think when you see a beautiful sunset? God made that. Ask yourself why are they so majestic? The reason – God stooped down to make them. His creation had no virus.

David asks us then to look at the variety of birds, wild donkeys, goats, lions and sea creatures. Each one has different needs, each makes a home in different ways and the Bible tells me God feeds them all.

You too are a wonder of His creation. What crossed your mind when your eyes opened to sunlight this morning? God says:

The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works [the entirety of things created].

Psalm 145:9

Today He invites you to call on Him and He will answer. I believe today He will more than meet your great expectations.

Stay safe and blessed.
