Last year started off as a gentle breeze regarding this pandemic and now it feels more like a hurricane with the disaster it has brought – what a wind of change! Sometimes wind comes slowly, sometimes it just hits you unexpectedly.

I find my life has been much like that. Just when things seem to be going well they suddenly change and of course vice versa.

There are times in our lives when we will have things happening that make us want to give up. Maybe it’s sickness or maybe you need a job. It doesn’t matter what the wind of change is. Your God is greater and He wants you to give Him your wind of change.

Maybe you’re at a time in your life when YOU feel like it’s no use. You’ve tried. You’ve tried to make the right choices. You’ve tried to do what’s right. But it just doesn’t seem to be working out. Maybe you’re thinking, It’s just too hard. Don’t get so discouraged that you give up on God. Take your wind of change to Him and ask Him to help you see it through.

The Bible lets followers of Jesus know they are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. That means no wind of change is big enough to take you completely out. Issues in life will come and there is a tendency just to quit, especially on God.

God will remind you this morning be careful who you listen to as there will be people in your life who will try to discourage you. They will tell you that you can never be good enough, that it’s no use trying through this wind of change. I disagree. As long as God lives inside of you, you are able to do far more than what people think you can do. No matter what people say, God will never give up on you. He will give you the courage and strength you need.

Finally, let me give you a brief synopsis of a young man who faced many winds of change in his life and he never gave up on God and became very much a conquerer.

In the life and story of Joseph (Genesis 37-46), we see the value of a character…

  • Sold as a slave
  • Sent to prison for a charge he did not commit.
  • Forgotten by the butler.
  • Made head of Egypt and saved a world from starvation.
How did he negate his wind of change?
  • Centred his faith and trust in God
  • Devoted to serving God and man with honour and dependability
  • Unwilling to be deterred by the hatred, betrayal, and forgetfulness of others
  • Willing to forgive the wrongs committed by others.

Stay safe and blessed.
