What marvellous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. 1 John 3 :1 The Message

There is a favourite hymn often song at weddings. It was sung at my wedding, and that song is love divine all loves excelling. (I have included a version for you to enjoy at the end of this blog)

How true the title of that song is and what is more incredible we can know that love because as the song says joy of heaven to earth came down. This love gives me hope for this coming year.

Yesterday we spoke on having hope in the sense of having an anchor, someone we can literally depend upon whenever life is thrown at us. The reason for that dependency is because of this great love.

Everyone needs to be loved no matter who they are, and John writing to a church in Ephesus over 2000 years ago could say yes everybody can know a divine love.

John describes this love as marvellous, which the dictionary describes as causing great wonder.

Those of us who have acknowledged that Jesus came to save us and bring us into a relationship with God can truly know this amazing love because it has been extended to us by simple Faith and Trust in Jesus.

Whatever level of faith you have that does not depend on how much God loves you. God loves because God is love and today He wants to extend that love to you too so that you  may  look in wonder and amazement at how the creator of all things is seeking a father child  relationship with you.

I hope this year if you’ve never considered becoming a child of God, that in the midst of what we are going through, you might pause and give a thought to the offer of knowing God’s love.

For those of us who have allowed God into our lives then  let His love fill you this year you with confidence that your circumstances do not depend upon your Fathers love, just the opposite. Your Father loves you simply because God is love.

An Unparalleled Love. There is no equal. it cannot be matched. 2 Sam. 1: 26.
