What rules? Why? The reason is simple it’s because of JESUS
Yesterday we came out of lockdown in the sense of being able to go shopping as all the shops are now open and yet the message came from the Prime Minister. Make sure we still obey the rules and be sensible.
Very good advice and I hope that as a nation we do just that. Yes, let’s enjoy this new freedom but let’s remember the consequences of overstepping the mark.
It is the responsibility of everyone to ensure we can continue enjoying this new freedom.
You know for the followers of Jesus that message is just as important as we obey the rules Jesus has set.
What rules? Why? The reason is simple, it’s because of JESUS.
- Paul tells us “You are God’s children whom he loves, so try to be like him. In other words, imitate how Jesus behaved while He was on earth. He obeyed the law and in fact took a coin to illustrate the point of obedience to whoever is in power.
- Live a life of love just as Christ loved us and gave himself for us as a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice to God” Ephesians tells us this most emphatically. Love even to those who won’t love you back. We are to live a life of love. Love involves obeying rules so we protect one another pulling in the same direction taking care of one another. You see by having the vaccine you are saying I care about the people I come in contact with and do not want to pass on to them this virus. This simple act is a sign of love.
Let us stop there for today and reflect with a question. Am I going to ensure that I will obey the rules in this newfound freedom for the simple reason because of JESUS.
